RAWO educates poultry farmers across Rwanda on the importance of chicken welfare, encouraging them to adopt husbandry practices that respect the Five Freedoms of animals. Through training, awareness campaigns, and community engagement, RAWO promotes a shift from focusing solely on productivity to recognizing chickens as sentient animals that deserve proper care, humane treatment, and welfare throughout their lives. This approach supports more ethical and sustainable poultry farming.

Humane Dog Population Management
Impact
RAWO has vaccinated more than 4,000 dogs across Rwanda, protecting both animal and public health while supporting the global goal of eliminating dog-mediated human rabies by 2030. Alongside vaccination, RAWO provides deworming services, promotes responsible dog ownership, and raises community awareness on animal welfare.
Through humane sterilization (spay and neuter) programs, RAWO is also helping reduce the population of roaming dogs and cats, improving animal welfare, reducing conflicts between people and animals, and creating safer, healthier communities.
