Celebrating World Animal Day 2025 in Rwanda
RAWO, together with key stakeholders including the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources (MINAGRI), Rwanda Development Board (RDB), RCVD, RAB, and Gorilla Doctors, proudly joined the rest of the world in celebrating World Animal Day 2025 under the global theme: “Save Animals, Save the Planet.”
At the national level, this special day was celebrated in Musanze District, where we focused on improving the welfare of dogs in Rwanda through Humane Dog Population Management initiatives. The conducted activities included:
Vaccinating over 200 dogs against Rabies.
Raising public awareness on animal welfare, responsible dog ownership, and the crucial role animals play in a healthy ecosystem.
We are also honored to share that RAWO was selected as a recipient of the World Animal Day- Naturewatch Foundation grant
We extend our heartfelt gratitude for their generous support, which made it possible for us to organize and celebrate this important day in Rwanda.
